Jim Arnold, born on January 31, 1961, is a former American football punter who played in the National Football League (NFL) during the 1980s and 1990s. He played college football at the University of Michigan, where he distinguished himself as a reliable punter. Arnold was selected in the 6th round of the 1983 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints.
Throughout his professional career, Arnold played for several teams, including the New Orleans Saints, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Miami Dolphins. He gained recognition for his powerful leg and precise punting skills, contributing crucially to his teams' special teams units. His most notable achievement came in 1986 when he earned a spot on the NFL’s All-Pro team, further cementing his reputation in the league.
