Jim Haslett, born on December 9, 1955, in Ashland, Kentucky, is a former professional American football player and coach known for his contributions to the National Football League (NFL). A standout linebacker, he played college football at John Carroll University before being selected in the 8th round of the 1979 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. Over his six-year playing career, Haslett established himself as a defensive leader and earned recognition for his physical style of play.
After his tenure with the Buffalo Bills, where he accumulated 462 tackles and 6 sacks, Haslett transitioned to coaching, which marked the beginning of a successful career on the sidelines. He served as the defensive coordinator for various teams, most notably the New Orleans Saints, where he guided the team's defense to considerable improvement.
