Jim McCashney (30 December 1900 – 6 May 1978) was an Australian rules footballer who played with the Richmond Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1920s. Originally from the country town of Bairnsdale, he made his debut in 1921, quickly becoming known for his agility and skill on the field. Over the course of his career, he played a total of 86 games and scored 69 goals for Richmond.

McCashney's most notable performance came during the 1921 VFL Grand Final, where he played a crucial role in helping Richmond secure the premiership, marking the club's first championship victory in the league. His playing style was characterized by quick footwork and the ability to execute strategic plays, earning him a reputation as a valuable team member. After retiring from active play in 1926, he remained connected to the sport through coaching and local football affiliations.
