James Robert McMahon Jr., born on August 21, 1959, in Danville, Pennsylvania, is a former American football quarterback known for his role in the National Football League (NFL) during the 1980s and 1990s. He played college football at Brigham Young University, where he gained recognition for his exceptional passing skills and led the Cougars to a national championship. McMahon was selected by the Chicago Bears as the fifth overall pick in the 1982 NFL Draft.
McMahon's most notable achievement came in the 1985 NFL season when he led the Bears to a Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl XX, where they defeated the New England Patriots.
