Jim Neilson, born on November 28, 1940, in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, is a retired professional ice hockey player known for his defensive prowess. Over the course of his career, Neilson played primarily as a defenseman in the National Hockey League (NHL), having notable tenures with the New York Rangers and the California Golden Seals. He was recognized for his strong skating ability and tactical play, which contributed significantly to his teams' defensive strategies during the 1960s and 1970s.
