Jim Plunkett, born on December 5, 1947, in San Jose, California, is a former professional American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for over a decade. He attended Stanford University, where he garnered attention for his exceptional skills, culminating in winning the Heisman Trophy in 1970. Plunkett was selected first overall in the 1971 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots, marking the beginning of a notable career.
