Jim Schoenfeld, born on September 4, 1952, in Belleville, Ontario, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey defenseman known for his physical style of play and leadership on the ice. He entered the NHL after being selected 14th overall in the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft by the New York Rangers. Over the course of his career, Schoenfeld played for several teams, including the Rangers, the Detroit Red Wings, the Buffalo Sabres, and the New Jersey Devils.
Throughout his 12-year NHL career, Schoenfeld established himself as a reliable defenseman, amassing a total of 1,132 regular-season games, during which he recorded 56 goals and 210 assists.
