Jim Weatherly, born on April 13, 1952, is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) during the 1970s and early 1980s. He attended the University of Mississippi, where he established himself as a standout player, earning All-Southeastern Conference honors. Weatherly was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the 7th round of the 1974 NFL Draft.
During his professional career, Weatherly played primarily for the Atlanta Falcons and later spent time with the Los Angeles Rams and the Houston Oilers. Notable for his strong arm and leadership on the field, he led the Falcons to their first playoff appearance in 1978. Over his career, he completed over 800 passes and threw for more than 10,000 yards, leaving a significant mark on the franchise's history.
