Biography
Jimbo Fisher, born on October 9, 1965, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, is an accomplished American football coach and former player. He played quarterback at Salem College and transferred to the University of Florida, where he was a member of the team's 1996 national championship squad as a backup quarterback. Fisher began his coaching career at Samford University before moving on to hold various offensive coordinator positions at prestigious programs, including Auburn University and the University of Florida.
In 2007, Fisher became the offensive coordinator and head coach-in-waiting at Florida State University (FSU), where he would ultimately take over as head coach in 2010. Under his leadership, the Seminoles achieved significant success, highlighted by winning the 2013 BCS National Championship and finishing the season with a perfect 14-0 record. Fisher's tenure at FSU solidified his reputation as one of college football's elite coaches, earning him accolades including the Walter Camp Coach of the Year award.
In 2017, Jimbo Fisher accepted the head coaching position at Texas A&M University, where he has continued to build a competitive program in the highly regarded Southeastern Conference (SEC).
