Biography
Joe Krol (February 20, 1919 – August 11, 2002) was a notable Canadian football player who primarily made his mark in the National Football League (NFL) as a halfback and quarterback. Born in Alton, Ontario, he attended the University of Toronto, where he showcased his athletic prowess. Krol's professional career began when he joined the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League (CFL) before transitioning to the NFL, where he played for the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Yankees.
During his time in the NFL, Krol earned recognition for his versatility and skill on the field, becoming one of the league's prominent offensive players in the late 1940s. He was especially known for his ability to both run and throw effectively, which was relatively rare for players of his era.
