Biography
Joe Sacco is a former professional ice hockey player from the United States, born on February 4, 1969. He played the position of right wing and had a notable career in both Major Junior and professional leagues. Sacco was drafted in the fourth round, 70th overall, by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft, paving the way for his future endeavors in professional hockey.
Sacco spent the majority of his career in the American Hockey League (AHL) and International Hockey League (IHL), where he became known for his scoring ability and tenacity on the ice. He enjoyed success with teams such as the Hershey Bears and the Portland Pirates, leading the Pirates to a Calder Cup championship in 1994. Over his playing career, he accumulated significant points and displayed leadership qualities, which eventually led to his transition into coaching after retiring as a player.
