Joey Jones, born on October 29, 1962, in Birmingham, Alabama, is a former professional American football wide receiver. After an accomplished collegiate career at Auburn University, where he distinguished himself as a versatile player, Jones was selected in the 6th round of the 1985 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers. He also spent time with the New Orleans Saints, showcasing his abilities as both a receiver and a special teams player.
Throughout his six-year career in the NFL, Jones developed a reputation for his work ethic and commitment to the game. He recorded 72 receptions, 1,139 receiving yards, and 5 touchdowns, establishing himself as a reliable target for quarterbacks and a valuable member of his teams.
