Joey MacDonald, born on February 7, 1980, in Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada, is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender known for his tenure in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, selected in the 4th round (100th overall). MacDonald made his NHL debut during the 2006-07 season and established himself as a reliable backup goalie over the course of his career.
Throughout his time in the NHL, MacDonald played for several teams, including the Detroit Red Wings, New York Islanders, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Winnipeg Jets.
