Joey Porter, born on March 22, 1977, in Bakersfield, California, is a former professional American football player who primarily played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He attended San Diego State University, where he earned All-American honors before being selected in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. His impactful performance in the Steelers' defense quickly established him as a key player during his tenure.
