John Copeland, born on September 20, 1970, in Montgomery, Alabama, is a former American football defensive end who played in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Alabama, where he was a standout player and earned All-American honors. After a successful college career, Copeland entered the NFL Draft in 1993.
Copeland was selected in the first round as the 16th overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals. During his professional career, he became known for his formidable defensive skills and was a key member of the Bengals' defense throughout the 1990s. He played for the Bengals from 1993 to 1999, and later had a brief stint with the Miami Dolphins in 2000, contributing significantly in both run defense and pass rush.
