Biography
John Ricker (born May 12, 1985) is a former professional American football player who played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the New York Giants in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft after a standout collegiate career at the University of Florida, where he was recognized as an All-American and a key contributor to the Gators' defense.
During his NFL career, Ricker played for the New York Giants and the San Diego Chargers, appearing in over 100 games and starting in more than 70 of them. He was instrumental in the Giants’ defensive schemes, notably contributing to their Super Bowl XLII victory against the New England Patriots, where he recorded ten tackles and helped contain one of the league's top offenses.
After retiring from professional football in 2016, Ricker transitioned to a successful career in sports coaching and analytics. His legacy in the NFL is marked by his leadership on the field, work ethic, and ability to inspire teammates, solidifying his reputation as a respected figure within the football community.
