John Van Boxmeer, born on November 20, 1952, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey defenseman known for his skilled play and leadership on the ice. He was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round of the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft and made his NHL debut during the 1974-75 season. Over his career, he played for several teams, including the Canadiens, the Colorado Rockies, the New Jersey Devils, and the Buffalo Sabres.
Throughout his NHL tenure, Van Boxmeer became recognized for his defensive prowess and offensive contributions, amassing a career total of 258 points in 590 regular season games.
