Johnnie Johnson, born on October 8, 1956, in the United States, is a former professional American football player who played as a safety in the National Football League (NFL). He attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he was recognized for his athletic abilities and showcased his skills on the collegiate stage before being drafted into the NFL. Johnson was selected in the first round of the 1979 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.
