Jonathan Cheechoo is a retired Canadian ice hockey player, born on July 15, 1980, in Moose Factory, Ontario. He was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the second round, 29th overall, of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. Cheechoo made his NHL debut in the 2002-2003 season, quickly establishing himself as a talented forward known for his goal-scoring capabilities.
Cheechoo's most notable achievement came during the 2005-2006 NHL season when he won the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy as the league's leading goal-scorer, netting 56 goals. He played a crucial role in the Sharks' playoff runs during his tenure with the team and later had brief stints with the Ottawa Senators and the New York Islanders. Throughout his career, Cheechoo amassed over 160 goals and 280 points in 593 regular-season games.
