Jonathan Filewich is a Canadian ice hockey player born on October 2, 1984, in Waldheim, Saskatchewan. He played as a left winger and was known for his offensive skills and strong physical play on the ice. Filewich was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round, 30th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Throughout his career, Filewich played in various leagues, including the National Hockey League (NHL), American Hockey League (AHL), and ECHL. He made his NHL debut with the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 2006-2007 season, appearing in 11 games and recording a goal and an assist. His contributions in the AHL with teams like the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins showcased his scoring ability, where he notably finished as one of the top scorers on the team in several seasons.
Filewich’s career spanned several years, and he continued to play professionally until 2015.
