Jonathan Vilma, born on April 16, 1982, in Coral Gables, Florida, is a former professional American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL). He attended the University of Miami, where he was a standout player for the Miami Hurricanes, earning All-American honors. Vilma was selected by the New York Jets in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft, quickly establishing himself as a key defensive player.
During his NFL career, Vilma played for the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, and New Orleans Saints. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2009 after a standout season with the Saints, in which he recorded 105 tackles and 2 sacks.
