José Théodore is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender born on September 13, 1976, in Laval, Quebec. He was selected in the second round, 44th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Théodore made his NHL debut with the Canadiens during the 1995-96 season and quickly established himself as a reliable goaltender, culminating in a breakout year in 2002-03 when he won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's Most Valuable Player.
During his career, Théodore played for several NHL teams, including the Montreal Canadiens, Colorado Avalanche, Minnesota Wild, and Florida Panthers.
