Biography
Joseph K. Schwartzer is a former professional American football player who played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). Born on April 12, 1985, in Omaha, Nebraska, Schwartzer excelled in football during his high school years at Central High School, where he earned All-State honors. He went on to play college football at the University of Nebraska, where he was noted for his exceptional athleticism and leadership on the field.
Drafted in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, Schwartzer quickly established himself as a critical component of the team’s defensive lineup. Throughout his seven-year career, he played in over 100 games, accumulating significant statistics, including 400 tackles, 25 sacks, and 5 interceptions. Schwartzer was instrumental in the Packers’ run to victory in Super Bowl XLV, securing the franchise's fourth championship title in 2011.
After retiring from professional football in 2014, Schwartzer remained active in sports as a community advocate and youth football coach.
