Joseph Szombathy (born March 15, 1992) is a former professional American football player who played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He was born in Toledo, Ohio, and attended Toledo Central Catholic High School, where he gained recognition for his outstanding performances on the field. Szombathy continued his football career at the University of Michigan, where he excelled as a defensive player, earning All-Big Ten honors in his junior and senior seasons.
Szombathy was selected in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers.
