Josh Gorges is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenseman born on August 14, 1984, in Kelowna, British Columbia. Gorges began his junior career with the Kelowna Rockets in the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he demonstrated his defensive prowess. He was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, showcasing the potential that would define his subsequent career.
Gorges made his NHL debut during the 2005-2006 season with the Sharks before being traded to the Montreal Canadiens in 2007.
