Biography
Josh Scobee, born on June 23, 1982, in Longview, Texas, is a former professional American football placekicker who played in the National Football League (NFL). He attended Louisiana Tech University, where he established himself as a standout kicker, earning first-team All-WAC honors during his college career. Scobee was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth round of the 2004 NFL Draft.
Scobee spent the majority of his NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he played from 2004 to 2015. He gained recognition for his strong leg and accuracy, becoming the franchise's all-time leader in points scored and field goals made. Throughout his tenure, Scobee connected on 85.4% of his field goal attempts and earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2013, further solidifying his reputation as one of the more reliable kickers of his era.
In addition to his accomplishments on the field, Scobee was known for his philanthropic efforts, particularly through initiatives supporting education and youth sports. After concluding his playing career with brief stints at the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New Orleans Saints, Scobee retired in 2015.
