Jussi Markkanen, born on May 8, 1975, in Jyvaskyla, Finland, is a retired ice hockey goaltender who had a notable career spanning over two decades. Beginning his professional journey in the Finnish SM-liiga, he quickly established himself as a formidable presence in goal, leading to his selection in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, where he was picked by the New York Rangers.
Markkanen's NHL career included stints with multiple teams, including the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, and the New York Islanders.
