Justin Abdelkader, born on February 25, 1987, in Muskegon, Michigan, is a former professional ice hockey player known for his role as a forward in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played four seasons with the Michigan State Spartans in the NCAA, where he showcased his skill and leadership as team captain in his final year. Abdelkader was selected in the second round, 42nd overall, by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
