Forbath attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he gained recognition for his kicking abilities, setting several school records during his collegiate career. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2011.
Forbath's professional career began with the Washington Redskins, where he became the first kicker in NFL history to start his career with ten consecutive field goals made. He played with the Redskins from 2012 to 2013 and later had stints with the New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings, and Jacksonville Jaguars, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure in crucial game situations.
