Karl Alzner, born on September 24, 1988, in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey defenseman known for his defensive prowess and leadership on the ice. He was drafted fifth overall by the Washington Capitals in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft after an impressive junior career with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
