Kato Ottio, born on March 20, 1994, in Papua New Guinea, was a professional rugby league player renowned for his speed and athleticism. Primarily a winger, Ottio began his career with the Papua New Guinea Hunters, where he showcased his talent in the Queensland Cup, making a significant impact with his try-scoring ability and electrifying play. His performances earned him recognition and helped elevate the profile of rugby league in his home country.

In 2017, Ottio signed with the Canberra Raiders, becoming the first player of Papua New Guinean descent to join the NRL club. In 2018, he transitioned to the Super League, signing with the relegated club, but his career was tragically cut short due to his untimely death in January 2022.
