Biography
Keith Aucoin (born November 6, 1978) is an American former professional ice hockey player known for his skill as a center. A standout player in college hockey at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Aucoin went undrafted but signed with the Washington Capitals in 2001. He made his NHL debut in the 2005-06 season and played a total of 118 regular-season games in the league over a span of several seasons.
Aucoin gained recognition for his offensive capabilities, particularly during his time in the American Hockey League (AHL), where he played for teams such as the Providence Bruins and the Hershey Bears. He was a key contributor to the Bears' success, helping the team capture the Calder Cup championship in 2006, 2009, and 2010. Aucoin was awarded the AHL’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2011, solidifying his reputation as one of the league's top forwards.
Throughout his career, Aucoin was known for his strong playmaking abilities and leadership on the ice. After retiring from professional hockey, he transitioned to coaching and continued to contribute to the sport.
