Keith Butler, born on May 16, 1956, in Sumter, South Carolina, is a former professional American football player recognized for his contributions as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Memphis, where he showcased his skills and garnered the attention of NFL scouts. Butler was selected in the sixth round of the 1978 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
During his six-season tenure with the Steelers, spanning from 1978 to 1983, Butler was part of a dominant defensive unit that helped the team secure two Super Bowl championships (Super Bowl XIII and Super Bowl XIV).
