Biography
Keith Simons (born April 26, 1954) is a former professional American football player who played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). Raised in Chicago, Illinois, Simons excelled in both football and track during his high school years, earning a scholarship to play college football at the University of Southern California. After a standout collegiate career, he was selected in the second round of the 1976 NFL Draft.
Simons played the majority of his career with the San Francisco 49ers, where he became known for his tenacity on the field and strong playmaking abilities. Throughout his tenure, he accumulated significant statistics, including over 600 tackles and numerous interceptions, contributing to the team's success during the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was part of the 49ers' roster that reached the playoffs multiple times and won an NFC Championship.
