Kevin Bieksa, born on June 16, 1981, in Grimsby, Ontario, Canada, is a retired professional ice hockey player known for his tenure as a defenseman in the National Hockey League (NHL). Bieksa was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the fifth round, 151st overall, of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft after a successful collegiate career at Bowling Green State University. He made his NHL debut with the Canucks during the 2005-06 season and quickly established himself as a reliable and physical presence on the blue line.
Throughout his career, Bieksa played a total of 10 seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, serving as a key contributor during their run to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2011.
