Biography

Kevin Kolb is a former American football quarterback, born on August 24, 1984, in Victoria, Texas. He played college football at the University of Houston, where he set several school records, including career passing yards and touchdowns. Kolb was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft, marking the beginning of his professional career.

Throughout his time with the Eagles, Kolb served primarily as a backup quarterback, notably backing up Pro Bowler Donovan McNabb. In his first season as a starter during the 2010 season, he showcased his potential by throwing for over 1,100 yards and nine touchdowns in just seven games before an injury cut his time short. His performance earned him a trade to the Arizona Cardinals in 2011, where he aimed to establish himself as a starting quarterback.

Kolb’s career, however, was marred by injuries, limiting his effectiveness and time on the field. He spent parts of four seasons in the NFL, playing for the Eagles, Cardinals, and with a brief stint with the Buffalo Bills before retiring in 2013. Kolb's legacy in the league is often associated with his high potential and moments of promise that were unfortunately overshadowed by injuries.
