Biography
Kirill Gotovets, born on June 25, 1991, in Minsk, Belarus, is a professional ice hockey defenseman known for his strong defensive skills and physical style of play. He began his hockey career in Belarus before moving to North America, where he played junior hockey in the United States. Over the course of his development, Gotovets showcased considerable talent, leading to a selection in the NHL Entry Draft.
Gotovets was drafted in the 7th round, 206th overall, by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He spent several seasons in the collegiate ranks at Cornell University, where he became a key player, earning All-Ivy League honors. After completing his college career, Gotovets signed a contract with the Lightning, contributing to their AHL affiliate teams while also making appearances in preseason games for the NHL club.
