Biography
Kyle Whittingham, born on November 21, 1959, is a former professional American football player and current head coach of the University of Utah football team. A standout linebacker during his collegiate career at Brigham Young University, Whittingham garnered attention for his athleticism and leadership on the field, ultimately leading to his selection in the 1982 NFL Draft. He played for the Chicago Bears, but a brief stint in the league was followed by a transition to coaching.
Whittingham's coaching career began in 1985 as a graduate assistant at Brigham Young University, following which he became an assistant coach at multiple programs, including the University of Utah. In 2005, Whittingham was appointed head coach of the Utah Utes football team, where he has since established a reputation for building competitive teams and fostering player development.
