Larry Mavety, born on May 29, 1942, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is a retired professional ice hockey player known for his contributions as a defenseman throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Mavety played junior hockey for the Toronto Marlboros before being drafted by the New York Rangers in 1961. He made his professional debut in the National Hockey League (NHL) during the 1963-64 season, competing in a total of 50 games over his career.
Following his time in the NHL, Mavety transitioned to the American Hockey League (AHL) and the World Hockey Association (WHA), where he continued to build his legacy as a defensive stalwart.
