Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, born on February 11, 1991, in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, is a Canadian professional American football player. Primarily playing as a right guard, he attended McGill University, where he played college football and earned a degree in medicine. Duvernay-Tardif was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, becoming the first medical doctor to play in the NFL.
Duvernay-Tardif achieved notable success with the Chiefs, including starting in Super Bowl LIV, where the team triumphed over the San Francisco 49ers, ultimately securing the franchise's first championship in 50 years. His contributions on the field were complemented by his commitment to education and healthcare, as he pursued his medical degree while playing professionally.
