Biography
Leo Stasica (June 15, 1916 – January 1, 2000) was an American football player known for his versatile skills as a halfback and punter in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Notre Dame, where he was a key member of the team that won the 1938 national championship. Stasica was selected in the 1941 NFL Draft and began his professional career shortly thereafter.
Stasica played for the Chicago Bears from 1941 until 1942 and again in 1945 after serving in World War II. During his time in the NFL, he gained recognition for his speed and agility, contributing significantly to the Bears' offensive strategies. He was also noted for his punting ability, which added an additional dimension to his contributions on the field.
