Leon MacDonald, born on December 21, 1977, in Christchurch, New Zealand, is a retired rugby union player who achieved international recognition as a fullback and wing. MacDonald began his professional career with the Canterbury province, where he made a significant impact in the National Provincial Championship. His exceptional skills and versatility on the field led to his selection for the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks, making his test debut in 1998.
During his career, MacDonald earned 56 caps for the All Blacks, participating in two Rugby World Cups in 1999 and 2003.
