Libor Hájek, born on February 4, 1998, in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic, is a professional ice hockey defenseman known for his strong two-way play and physical presence on the ice. He began his junior career in the Czech Republic before transitioning to North America, where he played in the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the Saskatoon Blades. His performance in the WHL garnered attention, leading to his selection in the second round, 37th overall, by the New York Rangers in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
Hájek made his professional debut with the Hartford Wolf Pack in the American Hockey League (AHL) during the 2017-2018 season before earning a call-up to the NHL. He made his NHL debut with the Rangers on December 20, 2018, and subsequently became a mainstay on the team’s defensive core.
