Biography
Lou Angotti, born on January 16, 1938, in Fort William, Ontario, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey player renowned for his versatility as a forward. Angotti's career began in the late 1950s, gaining prominence as a skilled playmaker with a strong commitment to the game. He played college hockey at the University of Denver, where he was instrumental in leading the team to an NCAA championship in 1961.
Angotti entered the National Hockey League (NHL) in 1961, playing for teams such as the Chicago Black Hawks and the New York Rangers. Throughout his NHL career, which spanned over a decade, he was recognized for his leadership qualities, which earned him a position as team captain for the Black Hawks. Despite spending much of his time with teams in the minor leagues, Angotti's work ethic and performance paved the way for a commendable career that included participation in the first-ever NHL All-Star Game in 1969.
