Lou Creekmur was an American football player born on January 22, 1927, in New York City, New York. He played college football at the University of Virginia before being drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 1950 NFL Draft. Creekmur primarily played as an offensive tackle and guard, becoming a significant contributor to the Lions' success during the early 1950s.
Throughout his career with the Lions, which spanned from 1950 to 1958, Creekmur earned multiple accolades, including being selected to eight Pro Bowls and receiving All-Pro honors. He played a pivotal role on the Lions teams that won three NFL championships in 1952, 1953, and 1957.
