Luis Artime, born on December 2, 1938, in Córdoba, Argentina, was a prominent Argentine football forward known for his goal-scoring prowess. He began his professional career with Belgrano in 1955, where he quickly gained recognition for his ability to find the back of the net. After a successful stint, including his standout performances, he transferred to River Plate, one of Argentina's most prestigious clubs, in 1961.
