Mac Speedie (January 12, 1920 – January 24, 2018) was an American football end known for his time in the National Football League (NFL) during the 1940s and early 1950s. Born in Los Angeles, California, Speedie played college football at the University of Southern California before being selected in the 1944 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Rams. He later established his career with the Cleveland Browns, becoming an integral part of the team's offense under legendary coach Paul Brown.
Speedie was a key contributor to the Browns’ success in the early years of the franchise, earning a spot on the NFL All-Pro team multiple times. His athleticism and ability to stretch the field made him one of the premier receivers of his era, and he was known for his reliable hands and ability to make crucial catches in high-pressure situations.
