Makayla Thomas is a professional basketball athlete known for her exceptional skills as a guard. Born on April 12, 1998, in Atlanta, Georgia, she gained national recognition during her high school career at Mill Creek High School, where she led her team to a state championship and earned multiple All-State honors. Following high school, Thomas played collegiate basketball at the University of Georgia, where she set several school records and became one of the program’s all-time leading scorers.

During her time at the University of Georgia, Thomas was named to the All-SEC First Team three times and was a finalist for several prestigious awards, including the Naismith College Player of the Year. She helped lead her team to multiple NCAA tournament appearances, with a standout performance in her junior year that garnered attention from professional scouts. After graduating with a degree in Sports Management, she declared for the WNBA draft.

In 2020, Makayla Thomas was selected 10th overall by the Seattle Storm in the WNBA Draft, marking the beginning of her professional career.
