Marc-André Bergeron, born on October 13, 1980, in Roberval, Quebec, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey defenseman known for his offensive skills and powerful slap shot. He was selected by the New York Islanders in the 8th round, 220th overall, of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Bergeron made his NHL debut during the 2003-2004 season and played for multiple teams, including the New York Islanders, Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild, and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Throughout his career, Bergeron established himself as a reliable defenseman recognized for his contributions on the power play. He achieved notable success during his tenure with the Montreal Canadiens, where he had significant offensive seasons, including a career-high 14 goals in the 2010-2011 season.
