Camby played college basketball at the University of Massachusetts, where he gained national attention and was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year in 1996. He was selected as the second overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors, marking the beginning of a noteworthy career.
Throughout his NBA tenure, Camby played for several teams, including the Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, and the Houston Rockets.
